Hey friend,
I know the last time I wrote was way back in September. I apologize for the long absence but your girl was BURNT OUT. I was also on deadline for Forge & Fracture Saga #3. I turned that in and I’m revising her now (wild because Book 2 isn’t out yet but such is publishing). Again, I missed talking to you and sharing with you and I’ve kinda forgotten where we left off so let’s just start again with a quick one.
New, Now, Next
Since we last spoke, some new things popped off in the Forge & Fracture Saga world. Lemme tell you real quick:
That Self-Same Metal came out in Spanish as Labrada del Mismo Metal (isn’t that title great?) It’s available in paperback and ebook translated by María Angulo Fernández
That Self-Same Metal came out in a Large Print Edition
That Self-Same Metal came out in paperback in the UK and is available in the gift shop at Shakespeare’s Globe! I scream a little bit every time I think of that.
That Self-Same Metal was included in Locus Magazine’s Recommended Reading List for the 2024 Locus Awards! Check out the list and vote for TSSM here.
That Self-Same Metal comes out in paperback in the US on April 2nd. Get it wherever you buy your books
Saint-Seducing Gold, the sequel to That Self-Same Metal, comes out on April 23rd (Shakespeare Day). I’ll be doing an event here in NOLA and an East Coast signing tour, more to come on dates and places.
February Fun Fact
One new thing, I’d like to leave you something fun to bust out at your next trivia night. Here’s this month’s, in honor of Black History Month.
The Grove Theatre (called the African Grove Theatre by notoriously racist critic & playwright Mordecai Manuel Noah) was founded by actor James Hewlett and playwright William Alexander Brown in New York City in 1821. That’s 40 years before the American Civil War and six years before the full abolition of slavery in New York City. Here’s Hewlett as Richard III. Doesn’t he look fabulous?!
I’ll talk more about Hewlett, Brown, and their Black acting company (the 1st in US history) in a future letter. They were incredible.

Much love,
Brittany
Sorry to hear you were burnt out! But what a triumphant return - having your book sold in the Globe is amazing! I picked up my UK paperback in London the other day! I'm looking forward for more updates and fun facts.
